Lynn Harris has worked with the CAMHS Consultants team since 2001. She is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, and also a trained general nurse, sick children’s nurse and health visitor, with considerable clinical practice experience in each of these fields. Following a successful clinical career, she became a senior strategic manager at Regional level. Lynn has a first degree in Nursing, an M.Sc in Health Sciences, and a further M.Sc in Integrative Psychotherapy. She is a qualified user of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.
During her 9 years as a senior manager at a Regional Office of the NHS, Lynn developed the Regional policy for palliative care. She subsequently led nursing development and research initiatives, and later became acting Regional Nursing Adviser. Lynn then moved to the NHS Executive’s Regional Research & Development Directorate where she was involved in organisational development projects and contributed to policy development. A freelance consultant since 2000, Lynn has worked with the NHS, County Councils and Voluntary Sector on service reviews and evaluations, and tracing of care pathways for child and adolescent mental health services and cancer networks and has been involved in policy and leadership initiatives. She has a particular interest in the clinical aspects of service development, clinical effectiveness and clinical governance. She also maintains a private practice as a psychotherapist.
