JO NORMAN
Jo Norman currently works as a trainer and consultant specialising in the field of childcare and safeguarding. A trained nurse with experience both as a staff nurse on a surgical ward and as a district nurse, she has also worked as a health visitor and child protection advisor. She was the first health visitor in Buckinghamshire to be called to give evidence in court for a Care Order following the implementation of the Children Act.
Jo has developed and delivered training programmes for CCL, NSPCC and other organisations. Her work has included in writing a pack for health workers on Protecting Babies, which was launched in 2000, and which she is currently updating, and developing a supervision skills training pack for health workers and developing and delivering training over the UK on the assessment framework.
Training and development topics Jo covers include: Safeguarding, Domestic Violence, Working with Serious Offenders, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, and Parents with Mental Health Challenges.
